Our Partnership
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and The Trust for Public Land (TPL) have teamed up to help create parks in cities across America. TPL is a nonprofit organization that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and other natural places. Since 1972, TPL has helped protect more than 2 million acres in 46 states. TPL's Parks for People initiative works in cities across America to ensure that everyone, especially every child, enjoys close-to-home access to a park, playground, or natural area. During the months of June and July, Kimpton Hotels hosts a series of events to support TPL, raise funds and create awareness. Throughout the year, any guest can join us in contributing to the cause by simply staying at a Kimpton Hotel: Kimpton will donate $10 per night for every guest that is interested. Make your reservation and donation below. TPL also offers each Kimpton Hotel guest a subscription to its four-color national magazine, Land & People, through www.tpl.org/kimpton. Parks for People program Eight out of ten Americans live in a city or suburb. Yet, as many as two in three city residents lack access to a nearby park or playground. TPL's Parks for People initiative is working to ensure that everyone - in particular, every child - enjoys close-to-home access to a park, playground or natural area. Parks promote good health, reduce crime, and provide a host of environmental benefits. Few acts of philanthropy create a community resource as tangible or as permanent as creating a park or playground in a neighborhood without one. As a key driver of Kimpton's EarthCare Program, every summer in June and July all hotels offer a variety of ways to support TPL's efforts. Fundraising activities include:
