Highlights, Milestones & Programs
- 2009. Kimpton launched a Diversity Board focused on recruiting minority candidates, creating a minority mentor program and developing employee resource groups
- 2009. Diversity poster contest for employees now in its 5th year
- 2008. We established guidelines for supplier diversity
- 2007. Kimpton created and/or maintained ten regional advisory boards across the country, comprised of employees
- 2007. We introduced diversity training by senior leaders. Since that time, every senior leader has been required to offer diversity training; full training program developed, including PowerPoint presentations in English, Chinese and Spanish. To date, 31 training sessions have been held across the country
- 2004. Formed KGLEN (Kimpton's Gay and Lesbian Employee Network)
- 2004. Kimpton began partnering with Dress for Success as exclusive hospitality sponsor, committed to raising funds and increasing exposure for this non-profit organization
- 1997. Domestic partner benefits added to medical benefit plan
- 1981. Kimpton was founded; Bill Kimpton created a practice of hiring the best talent he could find, resulting in a long standing history of including women and minorities in senior executive positions
